Summary

This article explains how to allow sites to work through the web filter that do not use the standard port 80 for web access.

Problem

Certain websites may not use the standard port 80 for web access. You may easily recognize this by looking at the URL — if it contains a port number, then the site is trying to establish a web connection through a non-standard port. The URL may look like this:

http://www.domain.com:4000

Solution

You need to add the port number to the list of allowed ports that sites can access the web from. This setting can be found under Web proxy > Web proxy > Settings. Click the Advanced button to reveal the setting you want. Simply add the port to the list of allowed ports, and restart the proxy. For further information on how to make this change, see this page.
