Summary

How to allow Google Earth and Google Maps, including in third party sites

Problem

How do I allow Google Earth, and allow Google Maps in a third party website?

Solution

  1. Create a custom category for the following domains:
    • earth.google.com
    • maps.google.com
    • kh.google.com
    • mw1.google.com
    • mw2.google.com
    • cbk0.google.com
    • khmdb.google.com
    • khm0.google.com
    • khm1.google.com
    • mt0.google.com
    • mt1.google.com
    • lh6.ggpht.com
  2. If you are using Google Updater™, the following domains should also be added to the new custom category:
    • tools.google.com
    • cr-tools.client.google.com
  3. Create a HTTPS inspection policy with the following:
    • Who — Everyone*
    • What — The custom category created in step 1
    • Where — Everywhere*
    • When — Always*
    • Action — Do not inspect

    * Change as required by your organization

Tip: Download a text file of these domains for faster "copy and pasting" to the full-text mode version of Domain/URL filtering.
